HOOP-ACTION® Product Safety & Liability Disclaimer
EQ20/20, LLC | Indoor basketball training equipment
HOOP-ACTION® is designed for indoor basketball training. It includes a mounting system, moving distractors, and electronic components. Improper installation, unsuitable mounting surfaces, loss of mounting stability, interference with moving components, or failure to follow instructions can cause the product to fall or malfunction and may result in injury or property damage.
Before installing or operating HOOP-ACTION, read and follow the Installation & Setup Manual, warnings on the product and packaging, and instructions supplied with the suction cup system or optional mounting Adapter, as applicable. This notice supplements but does not replace those instructions.
1. Secure Mounting and Installation
• For the suction cup mounting configuration, use only the smooth, clean, dry, non-porous mounting surfaces identified as suitable in the product instructions. Do not assume a surface is suitable merely because it appears smooth.
• Follow the supplied mounting steps and verify that the suction cup, mounting hardware, housing, and any approved Adapter or accessory attachment are secure before each use and after any repositioning.
• Do not use damaged, cracked, loose, worn, or improperly secured mounting components. Stop use immediately if a suction cup loses its seal, the product shifts, or an attachment appears unstable.
• Keep people clear of the immediate installation and removal area. Do not install or remove the unit while other people are positioned where it could fall onto them.
• Do not hang from, pull on, lean against, swing, or place added weight on HOOP-ACTION or its accessories. The unit is not a load-bearing structure and is not intended for dunking or aggressive physical contact.
2. Additional Safety Features - Safety Eyebolts and Secondary Restraints
Each HOOP-ACTION unit is supplied with two factory-installed safety eyebolts, one at each end of the unit. They provide attachment points for additional restraints intended to reduce the risk of a fall if the suction cup loses its seal, the mounting connection loosens, or the unit is dislodged. Safety straps, nylon rope, chain, and other restraint materials are not included.
• For added protection whenever HOOP-ACTION is mounted to a backboard, use suitable secondary safety restraints connected to both installed eyebolts. Attach the restraints only to secure, suitable points on the backboard support or frame as directed by the Installation & Setup Manual and the backboard manufacturer. Do not assume that any part of a backboard is a suitable anchor.
• Select undamaged straps, rope, chain, and connectors of adequate strength for the equipment and the forces of an accidental detachment. Fasten them securely, limit slack and possible swinging, and keep them clear of players, the rim, net, wiring, and moving distractors.
• Before each use and after repositioning the unit, inspect the two eyebolts, attachment points, and any installed restraints for looseness, wear, or damage. Do not operate HOOP-ACTION if any mounting or secondary-retention connection is insecure.
• Secondary restraints supplement, but do not replace, correct suction-cup installation and inspection. No mounting or restraint system can guarantee that the unit will never detach, fall, swing, or cause injury. See the "Additional Safety Features" guidance and illustrations in the Installation & Setup Manual linked in the footer of eq2020.com.
3. Safe Operation and Electrical Precautions
• Use the product indoors only, in a suitable, dry training environment. Keep it away from water, rain, wet equipment, and other environmental conditions prohibited by the instructions.
• Keep hands, fingers, hair, loose clothing, and other objects clear of the moving distractors and assemblies while the unit is operating. Do not obstruct or attempt to stop moving parts by hand.
• Turn off and disconnect power before cleaning, adjusting, repositioning, inspecting, or handling moving or electrical components, except where the supplied instructions specifically require power for a designated check.
• Use only batteries, chargers, and power accessories that meet the product specifications. Do not operate or charge the product with damaged wiring, connectors, batteries, or power equipment. Follow the supplied battery and charging instructions.
• Do not disassemble, bypass safety features, modify wiring, or install unauthorized mounting or electrical attachments. Stop using the product and contact EQ2020 if it malfunctions or operates abnormally.
4. Basketball-Training Precautions and Supervision
• Use HOOP-ACTION only for its intended training purpose and in accordance with the Installation & Setup Manual. Do not use it as a step, handle, support, or attachment point for other equipment.
• Do not dunk on, deliberately strike, or engage in aggressive play against the device or its mounting system. Coaches and facility operators should maintain appropriate spacing and reasonable court supervision.
• Adult supervision is recommended when children use the product. Coaches, trainers, schools, and facility operators should communicate the applicable instructions and warnings to all participants and supervising personnel.
• Never leave a powered unit operating unattended in an area accessible to participants who are not being supervised.
5. Pre-Use Inspection and When to Stop
Before each training session, inspect the housing, mounting components, the two installed safety eyebolts, any secondary restraints and anchors, distractor assemblies, attachments, visible wiring, and power connections for damage, loose parts, unusual wear, or other signs of unsafe operation. If the unit moves unexpectedly, becomes detached or unstable, makes abnormal sounds, shows exposed or damaged wiring, or otherwise appears unsafe, stop use, disconnect power when safe, and contact EQ2020 before further operation.
6. Customer Responsibilities, Warranty, and Legal Rights
Users, purchasers, coaches, and facility operators are responsible for exercising reasonable care and following the supplied installation, operation, supervision, and safety instructions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, EQ20/20, LLC is not responsible for injury or property damage to the extent it results from improper installation, misuse, customer-caused damage, unsafe alterations, or failure to follow the provided instructions.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits any liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable rights concerning defective products, personal injury, or the HOOP-ACTION® Product Limited Warranty. This Disclaimer is not a release or waiver of such rights.
7. Questions and Product Safety Support
For installation questions, damaged equipment, or safety concerns, stop using the unit when appropriate and contact support@eq2020.com. Keep the Installation & Setup Manual and make its safety instructions available to everyone who installs, supervises, or uses HOOP-ACTION.
